New Delhi: War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, had a lackluster opening at the box office. The movie made Rs 52.5 crore in all languages, far less than Rajinikanth’s Coolie.
Analyzing the War 2 Box Office collection Day 1 Results
Including Rs 29 crore in Hindi, Rs 0.25 crore in Tamil, and Rs 23.25 crore in Telugu, War 2 brought in Rs 52.5 crore, according to Sacnilk.
The concerning aspect is that Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan’s 2019 film War made Rs 51 crore in its Hindi version and Rs 53 crore on its first day of release.
War 2’s revenue is disappointing when compared to the other YRF spy universe movies. Salman Khan starred in Tiger 3 (2023), which debuted at Rs 44.5 crore on the Sunday of Diwali. One of the biggest hits of 2023, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, opened at Rs 57 crore, with the Hindi share coming in at Rs 55 crore.
It’s interesting to note that the Telugu version of the movie did better than its Hindi counterpart. Fans from the South flocked to the theaters in droves as War 2 marks Jr. NTR’s Hindi debut.
According to Sacnilk, the Telugu audience for War 2 was 74.68% in the morning, 67.66% in the afternoon, 72.66% in the evening, and 84.88% at night.
In contrast, Hindi foot traffic recorded figures such as 16.37% for morning shows, 23.67% for afternoon shows, and 29.03% for evening shows.
But after Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, War 2 had the second-highest opening in Hindi this year.
Concerning War 2
War 2 is the first time that Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR have worked together. Kiara Advani plays a significant part in the movie as well. War 2, which was directed by Ayan Mukerji, is the follow-up to the popular 2019 film of the same name. The action thriller, which is produced by the studio, is a part of YRF’s spy thriller universe. The movie received mediocre reviews when it first came out, which may have affected its box office performance.
