Short speech:

Bengaluru’s Cubbon Park police will confirm an activist’s allegation against Virat Kohli.

In the celebration of RCB’s IPL victory, a stampede left 11 people dead and over 50 injured.

Karnataka cricket organization, RCB, and event organizer were the targets of a case brought by Bengaluru Police.

In relation to the stampede outside M Chinnaswamy Stadium during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) team’s first IPL victory celebration, which claimed 11 lives, an activist on Friday filed a complaint against the team’s star Indian cricket player, Virat Kohli.

HM Venkatesh, a resident of the Shivamogga district of Karnataka, filed the complaint at the Cubbon Park police station in Bengaluru, which is close to the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The Cubbon Park police responded by stating that the complaint will be verified throughout the investigation and will be taken into consideration under an existing case.

When the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) held a special felicitation ceremony to honor the RCB players after the team won their first IPL trophy after eighteen years, eleven people lost their lives and more than fifty were hurt in the stampede near the cricket stadium on Wednesday.

WHAT CAUSED THE STAMPEDE?

A temporary slab over a drain close to the stadium grounds collapsed under the weight of people standing on it, sources told the Karnataka government, based on preliminary information they provided. Numerous people were killed and injured in the stampede that followed the abrupt collapse, which caused panic.

Those who died included young men and women from 13 to 35 years old.

Despite the Bengaluru Police’s recommendation that the felicitation ceremony be held on Sunday for logistical and security reasons, the Karnataka government proceeded with it the day after RCB’s victory, according to senior sources who spoke to India Today TV.

Additionally, according to sources, the RCB management tweeted about their victory parade without first consulting the police, and the tweet received over a million views. They later asked the police for permission to hold a victory parade, but they were turned down, according to sources.

Top police officers, including Bengaluru City Commissioner B Dayananda, were suspended by the Karnataka government as a result of the stampede because of the arrangements that went wrong. Seemanth Kumar Singh was named the new Bengaluru police chief by the government after Dayananda was suspended.

Arrest of RCB Marketing Head, Detention of Three Others

In relation to the stampede, the Bengaluru Police filed a case against the RCB team, the KSCA, DNA Entertainment Private Limited, and other parties.

Following the stampede earlier today, police detained three employees of DNA Entertainment Private Limited, the company that organized the victory celebration, and arrested Nikhil Sosale, the head of RCB marketing.

As he was reportedly departing for Mumbai, Sosale, the head of marketing and revenue for RCB at Diageo India, was arrested at the Bengaluru airport. His arrest was deemed “illegal” when he filed a motion with the Karnataka High Court.

Three FIRs have been filed at the Cubbon Park police station thus far regarding the stampede, accusing DNA Entertainment Private Limited, KSCA, and RCB management of poor crowd control and insufficient planning.
