The SUV that PM Modi loves the most has finally made its way to India! I saw testing!

With the occasional introduction of a new EV, the EV market in India is expanding quickly. Customers are giving the EV revolution a chance, and companies like Tata, BYD, and Mahindra have been offering a wide range of excellent choices. But Tesla is also keeping an eye on the enormous Indian EV market and wants to take advantage of it as soon as possible. The US-based company has been working on getting its Model Y and Model 3 EVs homologated. There was a test mule on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Let’s examine this test mule!

Seeing a Tesla Model Y!

On the Mumbai-Pune expressway, a camouflaged Tesla Model Y was observed undergoing testing. It appears that Tesla will be introducing the most recent iteration of the Model Y to India, which is very exciting. It’s fantastic that Tesla has chosen to replace the outdated pre-facelift models with the newest models. The company has agreed to lease two showrooms: one in Delhi and one in BKC, Mumbai. The US-based brand will undoubtedly profit from the decrease in import taxes on these vehicles. Additionally, Tesla will be able to sell its vehicles for a price comparable to that of other Indian producers. Let’s examine some additional information regarding the recently released Tesla Model Y.

Features and Design of the Tesla Model Y

Before the facelift It was challenging to distinguish the Tesla Model Y from the Model 3, which was an SUV-styled variant of the former. Now, the new Model Y has a much more unique design with all-new design elements. It has a new tailight design, alloy wheels (19-inch or 20-inch), a redesigned bonnet and front bumper, and new DRLs that are reminiscent of Cybertrucks.

The new facelift for the Model Y maintains Tesla’s minimalist interior design. Only two minor adjustments have been made to the interior design: Tesla has added new seat fabrics and front seat ventilation. Just behind the front armrest, Tesla has installed a new 8-inch touchscreen with games, music controls, and AC controls to improve the experience of rear-seat passengers. Apart from that, the 15.5-inch touchscreen panel that houses the majority of the car’s features is still present. Nevertheless, the new Tesla Model Y appears more functional, and the cabin experience is further improved by the new features.

Powertrain And Pricing

The powertrain used in the Model Y facelift will remain unchanged. Both a 62.5 kWh and a 78.4 kWh battery pack are available for it. The 62.5 kWh battery, a single 295 bhp motor, and a 466 km stated range are all included. The larger battery generates 444 bhp and has a stated range of 551 km when paired with a dual-motor setup and AWD. Although Tesla has not yet disclosed the Model Y’s Indian pricing, we estimate that it will cost between Rs 35 and Rs 40 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
