The Defender lineup’s newest range-topper is the Octa.
The starting price of the Land Rover Defender Octa in India is Rs 2.59 crore. The Defender’s most potent and off-road-focused model to date is the top-of-the-line Octa; the Mercedes-AMG G63 is its closest competitor. For Rs 2.79 crore, Land Rover is also offering an Edition One version of the Defender Octa, which is even more off-road focused. The Edition One, however, will only be accessible during the initial year of manufacturing.
Defender Octa features a redesigned fascia, wider wheel arches, and new 22-inch wheels, among other improvements.
Performance seats, new upholstery, a larger 11.4-inch touchscreen, and other upgrades are included in the cabin.
Increased ride height and a new suspension system are examples of off-road improvements.
A 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 635 horsepower and up to 800 Nm powers the SUV.

Only available in the 110 body style, the Octa’s flared wheel arches, larger grille, updated front bumper, and increased ground clearance give it a meaner appearance than the Defender. It has unique 22-inch wheels with all-season tires on the side (Edition One has 20-inch wheels with off-road tires) and “Octa” badges on the C-pillars. The roof and tailgate are gloss-black in color.
Land Rover offers the Defender Octa in four custom colors—Carpathian Grey, Charente Grey, Faroe Green, and Petra Copper—to further increase its exclusivity. Additionally, these are available with matte finishes that come with a protective film.

New suspension system benefits on-road and off-road dynamics
The Octa, which is billed as the most capable Defender off-road vehicle, has a new 6D Dynamics suspension system that hydraulically connects the dampers, eliminating the need for a physical anti-roll bar. Land Rover claims that it “virtually eliminates” pitch and body roll and allows for more wheel articulation when driving off-road.
Longer and stronger wishbones, improved underbody protection, a custom drive setting with off-road launch mode, a 28mm increase in ground clearance to 319mm, and the most responsive steering rack of any Defender to date are also features of the Octa.
The Defender Octa’s maximum approach angle, departure angle, breakover angle, and wading depth are all increased by 2.5 degrees, 2 degrees, and 1.1 degrees, respectively, thanks to these improvements and the new front and rear bumpers.
