Sanju Samson rammed by KCA president: Can’t turn up just when you feel like

The Kerala Cricket Association president Jayesh George pummeled Sanju Samson on Saturday, January 18 after it was accepted that his nonattendance from the state’s Vijay Hazare Trophy squad was the motivation behind why he got scorned from India’s Bosses Prize side. Samson was one of the remarkable truants from India’s squad for the competition, which will start in February.

Samson was before dropped from the Vijay Hazare Trophy squad as he had missed an instructional course with the state group. Many, including Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, felt that this might have been the justification behind the wicketkeeper’s scorn from the Champions Trophy Squad. George, in any case, feels this may not be the sole reason.

The KCA President guaranteed that Samson sent him a one-line message saying he wouldn’t show up for the preliminary camp, which constrained the board to feel free to declare the Squad.
“I don’t know whether Samson missing the competition was the explanation he was barred. The explanation he was not added to the Vijay Hazare squad was on the grounds that he sent a one-line message saying he wouldn’t be accessible for the 30-member preparatory camp. We were the feeling that he would be all driving the group since he is our white-ball captain and had driven in the SMAT season also,” George was cited as saying by MediaOne.

Can’t represent Kerala whenever you feel like

George went on to say that Samson would later respond saying he was ready for selection, which was against KCA’s policies. The KCA President said that Samson cannot come and represent the state side whenever feels like and it was through the KCA he got his spot in the Indian team.

“So, we went ahead and announced the squad, and later he sent a message stating he is available for selection. Be it Sanju Samson or any other player, KCA has a policy in place that needs to be respected. We all know that Sanju does not need a camp to come into the squad, but is the Kerala team one that he can come and represent only when he feels like it? How did Samson reach the Indian team? It was only through the KCA. That doesn’t mean you turn up only when you feel like it for the Kerala team,” he added.

Samson has been in good form for India in white-ball cricket as he scored 3 hundreds in his last 5 T20Is.
