The Madhya Pradesh High Court has excused Bollywood entertainer Saif Ali Khan’s appeal recorded against the public authority notice announcing the Pataudi family’s property in Bhopal as ‘adversary property.’
A solitary seat of Equity Vivek Agarwal of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, during a conference on December 13, 2024, excused the request of entertainer Saif Ali Khan. The High Court coordinated in its organization that he can document an allure before the Redrafting Council. In any case, Saif Ali Khan or his family have not made any move yet.
As per sources, the Pataudi family has property worth Rs 15,000 crores in Bhopal. The property of Saif Ali Khan and Sharmila Tagore’s family reaches out from Kohefiza to Chiklod in Bhopal.
Everything began in 2014, when the Caretaker of Foe Property Division gave a notification proclaiming the properties of the Pataudi family situated in Bhopal as “foe property.” The question extended because of the 2016 statute of the Public authority of India, which clarified that the main beneficiary won’t have any directly over the property of the Pataudi family.
Abida Sultan moved to Pakistan in 1950
After the death of Bhopal Nawab Hamidullah Khan in 1960, his daughter Abida Sultan was considered the heir to the property. However, Abida Sultan had moved to Pakistan in 1950 itself, due to which the Government of India declared her second daughter, Sabia Sultan, as the heir to the property.
Saif Ali Khan challenged this notice in the High Court in 2015 and got a stay on the property. But on December 13, 2024, the High Court rejected his petition, thereby lifting the stay.
“Enemy property” is property that belongs to a person who had moved to Pakistan at the time of the partition of India and later gave up Indian citizenship. The property of the Pataudi family falls under this category, as Abida Sultan had decided to settle in Pakistan.
After the ordinance of the Government of India, people who have purchased property from the Pataudi family fear if the property comes under the government’s control, they might be declared ‘encroachers.’

In the new choice, the High Court had given 30 days to the Khan family to move toward the redrafting council to recover the property. The cutoff time has terminated, and no case was put together by the Nawab family.
Presently, as per the legitimate interaction, the public authority can have privileges over these properties. The Bhopal locale organization can begin the procedures to assume control over the properties whenever. These properties are supposed to be worth around Rs 15,000 crore, which incorporate authentic structures and terrains connected with the Bhopal royal state.
On the off chance that Saif Ali Khan and his family don’t put forth their viewpoint before the investigative power, the public authority can have full freedoms over these properties.
