After Ranveer Allahbadia’s comments during a YouTube episode of “India’s Got Latent” were judged offensive and disparaging, the controversy broke out.
Popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia expressed regret on Monday for his divisive comments on the comedy series India’s Got Latent.
“I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry,” Allahabad posted on X.
Not only was my remark improper, it was also unfunny. I’m not good at comedy. I’m only here to apologize. Many of you have inquired as to whether I want to use my platform in this manner. This is obviously not how I want to use it,” Allahbadia, the owner of BeerBiceps, stated in a video message.
“I’m not here to provide any background information, explanations, or logic regarding what transpired. I’m only here to apologize. Personally, I made a poor decision, and it wasn’t cool. People of all ages listen to the podcast. I don’t want to be the type of person who disregards that duty. The YouTuber went on to say, “I would never disrespect my family.”
Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina, social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, and the producers of the show “India’s Got Latent” have already been the subject of a formal complaint.
The controversy started when some of Allahbadia’s comments were judged to be “offensive.”
‘Accused laughed and made inappropriate jokes about women’: Complainant
According to the complaint, the participants and organizers purposefully made offensive comments about women’s private areas in order to increase their online broadcast’s popularity and revenue.
The complainant characterizes the accused’s laughter and offensive jokes about women in the broadcast, which was broadcast on YouTube and aired worldwide, as a serious offense.
The letter also highlights that these statements were made with the goal of making money off of controversy, disregarding the damage done to women’s dignity or the detrimental impact they might have had on young audiences, especially children.
