Asit Modi exclusively told News18 Showsha a few months ago that Disha would not be making a comeback to the well-liked sitcom. We now know that Dayaben’s search is nearly complete.
Asit Modi, who had been holding auditions for the role of Dayaben, has finally shown interest in someone, according to an insider who spoke to us exclusively. We now know that an actor who has not yet been identified has made the short list for the part of Daya in Tappu Ke Papa’s Gaga. In addition to this, the group is now holding mock shoots with her.
“Yes, that is correct. A recent audition greatly impressed Asit ji, who had been searching for a new Dayaben. The actress is currently in the middle of mock shoots. She has been here shooting with us for about a week,” the source stated.

Asit Modi acknowledged that Disha Vakani might not be returning to the show in an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha in January of this year. He disclosed that she is occupied with both of her kids at the moment. “I’m still making an effort. I don’t think Disha Vakani can return. She has two kids. She is similar to my sister. We still maintain a close relationship with her family today. I’ve got a Rakhi tied by my sister, Disha Vakani. I also consider her brother and father to be family. It becomes your extended family after 17 years of working together,” he said.
She finds it challenging to go back to the show at this time. After marriage, women’s lives change. They find it quite challenging to manage the house and work with young children. However, I remain optimistic. I have a feeling that she will return after God performs a miracle. It will be beneficial if she shows up. The creator of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah went on, “I will have to bring another Dayaben for the show if she doesn’t show up for some reason.”
