Following a frustrating flight delay, former Australian cricketer David Warner recently took a swipe at Air India. Warner, who most recently represented Australia in the Men’s T20 World Cup in the USA and the West Indies, boarded a plane that was initially pilotless, which resulted in a lengthy wait. The retired batter expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation on social media. “We’ve boarded a plane without pilots and been waiting on the plane for hours,” Warner wrote. Given that you don’t have any pilots for the flight, why would you still board passengers?
According to a statement from Air India, the delay was caused by severe weather in Bengaluru, which resulted in numerous airline delays and diversions. The airline clarified that the hold-up was caused in part by the crew assigned to Warner’s flight being preoccupied with another task. Despite the inconvenience, Air India apologized for Warner’s and other passengers’ disruption and acknowledged the situation.
Replying to Warner’s complaint, Air India wrote, “Dear Mr. Warner, today’s challenging weather in Bengaluru caused diversions and delays across all airlines. The crew operating your flight was held up on an earlier assignment affected by these disruptions, which led to a delay in departure. We appreciate your patience and thank you for choosing to fly with us.”
David Warner will participate in the PSL
After failing to sell at the Jeddah mega auction last year, Warner is not participating in the current Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Along with Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, and Rohit Sharma, Warner is one of only four batters in IPL history to score 6000 runs or more.
The southpaw will now participate in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, which is set to take place from April 11 to May 18, for the Karachi Kings. On Saturday, April 12 at Karachi’s National Stadium, the Kings will take on the Multan Sultans in their opening game.
