By conducting a poll on X, formerly Twitter, Elon Musk escalated his public dispute with President Donald Trump. He believes that a new political party should be formed to represent the vast majority of Americans, who he believes are underrepresented in the current political system.
Musk asked his followers a direct question: “Is it time to create a new political party in America that represents the 80% in the middle?”
Musk has consistently criticized both major parties and called for political change, which is reflected in the poll.
A Note to Republicans
“Oh, and some food for thought as they ponder this question: Trump has 3.5 years left as President, but I will be around for 40+ years…” Musk responded sharply to a prominent conservative’s remark that Republicans might have to choose between Musk and Trump.
The Trump-Musk dispute over the tax bill gets more intense.
Elon Musk made a startling accusation on X, formerly Twitter, which intensified his public dispute with President Donald Trump. According to Musk, Trump is mentioned in the contentious, as-yet-unreleased Jeffrey Epstein files.
“Time to drop the massive bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” Musk tweeted on Thursday.
“Save this post for later,” he continued. The truth will be revealed, escalating rumors and escalating hostilities between the two.
Trump says he will terminate Musk’s government contracts
On his social media platform Truth Social, Trump aimed Musk, calling him “CRAZY” and threatening to revoke government subsidies and contracts given to his businesses.
“Cancelling Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts is the simplest way to save billions and billions of dollars in our budget,” Trump wrote. Every time, I was shocked that Biden didn’t!
By declaring, “In light of the President’s statement about cancellation of my government contracts, @SpaceX will begin decommissioning its Dragon spacecraft immediately,” Musk intensified the confrontation.
Conflict erupts over Trump’s tax bill.
Musk fiercely criticized Trump’s tax and spending bill, which was passed by House Republicans in May and hailed by Trump as a “big, beautiful bill,” which exacerbated the public dispute.
Musk referred to the bill as the “big, ugly bill,” while Trump defended it. “This bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night so fast that almost no one in Congress could even read it!” Musk further asserted that the bill was hurried through Congress without adequate review.
Musk takes credit for Trump’s victory in the 2024 election
With the unexpected tweet, “Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Democrats would have controlled the House, and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate,” Musk affirmed his pivotal role in Trump’s political triumph.
Trump’s response, he bemoaned, was “so ingratitude.”
On June 4, Musk denounced the bill as a “massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill,” calling it “outrageous” and a “disgusting abomination.”
He wrote on X, “Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”
