According to PTI, which cited top sources, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is questioning 26/11 Mumbai terror attack convict Tahawwur Hussain Rana for 8 to 10 hours every day in an effort to learn more about the larger conspiracy behind the deadly attacks. Rana was recently extradited to India from the US.

According to the sources, NIA investigators were questioning Rana for eight to ten hours every day in an effort to uncover a wider conspiracy that may have led to the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.

Rana was a co-conspirator in the 2008 Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror attack in India’s financial capital, which claimed 166 lives and injured over 230. The LeT is based in Pakistan.

Numerous phone conversations between the 64-year-old Canadian businessman of Pakistani descent and his co-conspirator David Coleman Headley, also known as Daood Gilani, are among the leads the probe agency reportedly gathered during its investigation.

According to a source, “Rana has been cooperating during the questioning,” and he is being questioned by a group of NIA officials under the direction of Chief Investigating Officer Jaya Roy.

According to the sources, the investigators also hope to uncover some significant leads regarding his travels in northern and southern India in the days leading up to the November 26, 2008, massacre in the nation’s financial center.

According to officials, the NIA is making sure Rana gets a medical examination, and a Delhi court’s ruling has permitted him to see his attorney.

Tahawwur Rana asked for three things while in custody

According to sources who spoke to PTI, Rana, who is currently being held in a high-security cell inside the NIA’s headquarters at Delhi’s CGO Complex, has only requested three items thus far: a pen, paper sheets or notepad, and the Quran. All three have been given to him.

A team headed by Chief Investigating Officer Jaya Roy is leading the investigation into the terror attack suspect, who is being monitored around-the-clock.

Rana has not yet made any specific food-related demands, they said, and he is receiving “food items which are given to any other accused” in accordance with the standard procedures designed to handle such cases.
