Comedian Kunal Kamra has retaliated against the music label T-Series for allegedly preventing his contentious stand-up video, Naya Bharat: A Comedy Special, from being seen on YouTube. After he caused a stir during a performance in Mumbai by making a ‘gaddar’ (traitor) remark about Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde without naming him, Kamra responded.

“Hello @TSeries, stop being a stooge,” Kamra wrote in a harsh remark on X. Legally, parodies and satire fall under fair use. I have not utilized the song’s original instrumental or lyrics. All dance videos and cover songs may be removed if this one is taken down. Please take note of it, creators.

“Having said that every monopoly in India is nothing short of the Mafia, so please watch/download this special before it’s taken down,” he said.

One commenter on the post said, “You expect too much from T-series,” demonstrating how quickly the internet responded to the post. Whether it’s for stage shows, remakes, or even the use of their own songs, T-series has previously infringed on the rights of the singers and musicians who wrote the songs for them.
