“I finally got around to freezing my eggs.” Karishma, the 32-year-old founder of Humans of Bombay, does just that

The CEO of Humans of Bombay, Karishma Mehta, received a lot of social media praise for this significant life update.

Most people make resolutions in January. Karishma Mehta’s goal was to reclaim control of her life, career, and fertility. The 32-year-old founder of Humans of Bombay took to Instagram to reveal that she had frozen her eggs.

“I had been meaning to do this for a while and finally got around to it. “I froze my eggs at the beginning of the month,” Mehta wrote, casually but powerfully addressing a topic that is frequently shrouded in silence.

Egg freezing, also known as oocyte cryopreservation, is the process of extracting a woman’s eggs, freezing them at temperatures as low as -196°C, and storing them for future use. While many women choose this procedure to preserve fertility for medical reasons, it is also becoming a popular option for those who value their careers, personal growth, or simply do not feel ready to start a family.

Mehta’s decision followed a series of milestones, including attending a Coldplay concert in Mumbai, celebrating 11 years of Humans of Bombay, completing a LinkedIn masterclass, and raising ₹20 lakh for rape victims. Her candid admission of her egg-freezing journey, however, struck the strongest chord.

“January, you’ve been exceptional. And I hope it has been for you, too. Tell me about something special that has happened to you this month. She wrote, inviting her followers to participate in a conversation that quickly filled with support.

“Wowowow, that’s what you call a kick a** start to the year,” one user wrote. Another person commented, “You are such an awesome inspiration!” And a third added, “Phenomenal!” It’s so inspiring and commendable, all of your hard work.

Another user praised her, saying, “More strength to you @karimehta05.” Keep going, shining, and inspiring forever. Regards, prayers, best wishes, and lots of positive energy for you”.
