Singer Arijit Singh informed his Instagram followers that he will no longer be accepting any new playback assignments. Having established himself as a leading voice in the Indian music industry, the 38-year-old thanked listeners for their support and expressed his decision to step away from taking new jobs as a playback vocalist.
In his post, Arijit wrote, “Hello, Happy new year to all. I want to thank you for giving me so much of love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey. God has been really kind to me. I am fan of good music and in future will be learning more and do more on my own as a small little artist. Thanks again for all your support. I still have to finish some pending commitments , will finish them. So you might get some releases this year. Just to be clear that I won’t stop making music.”
The singer made it clear that he will fulfill his current obligations even though he is walking away from playback tasks. Some of these unfinished projects might be released later in the year, according to Singh. He made it clear to his audience that he does not plan to stop creating music, but rather to continue on his own as he develops as a performer.
Throughout his career, Singh has collaborated on many critically acclaimed movie soundtracks and gained notoriety in the music business.
