Kantara Chapter 1 box office collection

Today marks the theatrical debut of Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1, which has received favorable reviews and word-of-mouth. Although the box office calculations are already underway, it now appears that the film will not be able to reach 1000 Cr.

All five languages—Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam—are seeing positive numbers. However, due to little pre-release buzz and advancements, this periodic action drama’s opening numbers pale in comparison to KGF-2’s.

Now, major Pan-Indian films are becoming members of the 1000 Cr club. This group already includes movies like Kalki 2898 AD, Pushpa-2, RRR, Baahubali-2, and KGF-2. The same expectations were placed on Kantara’s prequel a few months ago, and everyone believed it would join this exclusive group with ease.

However, the trailer did not resonate well with all language audiences, so the film did not generate the expected buzz. Currently, it appears that Kantara Chapter 1 will never reach 1000 Cr, despite the positive word-of-mouth.

Not all languages, including those abroad, have made significant progress this weekend. Though not on the KGF-2 level, it will undoubtedly have a good weekend. We’ll have to wait and see how it turns out, but the trade anticipates the movie will make between 600 and 700 Cr.

However, based on all possible calculations, 1000 Cr appears to be beyond Rishab Shetty’s budget because there isn’t a lot of audience interest in the movie.
