After a fatal stampede near Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah hurried to the Bowring Hospital. “Crowd uncontrollable, we did not have time to make arrangements,” Siddaramaiah told NDTV.

Shivakumar claimed that because the crowd was young, police were unable to use a lathi charge in the stampede-like situation. “We can’t use lathi because it was a young, energetic crowd,” Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar told PTI.
